Choosing the right holiday home can make the difference between a good holiday and a great one.

When we bought Litha House, we weren't looking for an investment property. We wanted somewhere we would genuinely enjoy spending our own holidays. Somewhere comfortable, practical and relaxing that we'd look forward to returning to after a day exploring Fuerteventura.

As the years have gone by, we've continued to improve the house, not by following trends, but by remembering all the little things that have made a difference to us while travelling.

Whenever we've found ourselves saying...

"I wish we'd had that."

...we've tried to include it at Litha House.

Today, almost everything you'll find here has a reason for being here.

Arrive... and Relax

Travelling can be tiring, whether you've had an early morning flight, a delayed arrival or you've simply had enough of airports for one day.

The last thing most people want to do is unpack their suitcase and immediately head back out searching for an open supermarket just to make a cup of tea.

That's why we provide a complimentary starter welcome pack to help you settle in during your first 24 hours.

You'll usually find tea, sugar, instant coffee, milk, a large bottle of drinking water, biscuits or crisps, a bottle of wine and even a washing machine tablet for those unexpected holiday emergencies.

It's not intended to replace your supermarket shop, but it does mean your holiday can begin the moment you arrive.

Holiday Mornings Should Feel Different

One of our favourite parts of any holiday is waking up slowly without feeling rushed.

That's why we've fitted shutters to the bedroom windows and doors. They help keep the rooms beautifully dark if you fancy a holiday lie-in and, during warmer weather, allow you to enjoy the cooler evening breeze with the windows open while still feeling secure.

We've also added coffee stations to the two adult bedrooms because, for us, nothing says "holiday" quite like enjoying a cup of tea or coffee in bed before getting dressed.

After all... this is holiday mode, not work mode.

Family Holidays Should Be Easier

Travelling with children often means taking everything except the kitchen sink!

As grandparents ourselves, we've learnt that little legs don't always last as long as their enthusiasm. We provide an additional stroller because, more often than not, it was the older child who became tired first while the younger one still wanted to explore.

You'll also find buckets, spades and inflatables ready for the beach and swimming pool. They're exactly the sort of bulky items children love but parents would rather not try to squeeze into already full suitcases.

Hopefully that's one less thing for you to think about before you travel.

It's Often the Small Things

Many guests now travel with hand luggage to keep airline costs down, making toiletries one of the first things left behind.

To help you settle in comfortably, we provide complimentary shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the main bedroom, together with body wash mitts because they're surprisingly easy to forget when packing.

There's also a safe for passports, travel documents and valuables, giving you one less thing to worry about while you're enjoying your holiday.

Relax at Your Own Pace

Not every day has to be filled with sightseeing.

Sometimes the perfect holiday day begins with breakfast on the terrace, continues beside the pool and finishes with a quiet evening watching a favourite film.

We provide our own private sun loungers, so there's no need to join the early morning rush to reserve a bed around the communal pool.

Back at the house you'll find Netflix included, with films and programmes available in multiple languages, allowing everyone to watch what they enjoy, whenever they choose rather than being tied to a television schedule.

Everything Else You Need

Alongside these thoughtful touches you'll also find everything you'd expect for a comfortable self-catering holiday.

A fully equipped kitchen for proper family meals, fibre Wi-Fi, comfortable bedrooms, ceiling fans throughout the house, beach towels, washing machine, Smart TV and all the practical touches that help make Litha House feel more like a home than simply somewhere to stay.

Booking Direct

If you've found Litha House through one of the major booking websites, you may notice that booking directly through our own website is often a little cheaper.

That's because we don't have to pay the commission charged by the major online travel agencies.

Rather than keeping that saving ourselves, we prefer to share it with our guests.

It's simply our way of saying thank you for booking direct and welcoming returning guests back to Litha House.
